The Governor's Heritage Award
The Governor's Heritage Award is presented annually to outstanding
individuals and organizations who meet the following criteria:
- Actively participating in their community as a master
traditional artist, community scholar, or community historian.
- Are the finest possible representatives of significant cultural
traditions.
- Are tradition bearers within their community and recognized as
such by their community.
- Have records of ongoing accomplishment and excellence.
- Have contributed significantly to the cultural heritage of the
State of Washington.
